Studies show the reciprocal benefits to both teachers and the community when we ‘give back’ to our community as educators. This TeachMeet is an excellent opportunity for teachers to reflect on how we contribute to the wider communities in which our schools reside. This collaborative TeachMeet will encourage participants to share existing strategies of community engagement, while inspiring each other with new ideas and opportunities. Fieldwork is a hands-on inquiry method of learning that is embedded in the NSW Geography Curriculum. This TeachMeet will give participants the opportunity to share how they have explored their School for Fieldwork Inquiry opportunities and how to engage students more effectively in their learning.
